Built Environs appointed to build the Manukau Health Park Redevelopment

We’re thrilled to have been awarded the contract to deliver the Manukau Health Park Redevelopment project for Te Whatu Ora Counties Manukau.

Located in South Auckland, this crucial project will address the area’s growth, and give the community better access to high quality health care.

The new and improved facilities will increase theatre and outpatient capacity delivering:

  • four new operating theatres and 20 recovery beds
  • an expanded renal dialysis service
  • a new radiology hub
  • an integrated breast care service

The increase in capacity will enable almost 150,000 additional appointments each year when fully utilised, and more than 3,600 additional surgeries to be performed on site.

The redeveloped facility will also have the ability to accommodate up to 450 new full-time employees across a variety of health services, improving capacity, accessibility and quality of community care.

This project marks the largest undertaking by Te Whatu Ora in the Counties Manukau District for many years and has been made possible through $216.4 million in funding from the New Zealand Government and the remainder being covered by Counties Manukau Health.

Works to establish the new health park have commenced and are expected to create an estimated 500 jobs across Built Environs and subcontractor teams.

The project is scheduled to be completed by late 2025.
