Built Environs receives 2011 Australian Institute of Building Awards

SA-based commercial, industrial and institutional building company Built Environs has received recognition for the excellence of its construction teams with three Australian Institute of Building Awards at an awards night held in the Adelaide Oval Western Grandstand on Friday 6 May 2011.

The awards recognise excellence in the building and construction process and the contribution that people make to the outcome.

The Adelaide Oval Western Grandstand Redevelopment won a Professional Excellence Award in the Commercial Construction $100 million-plus category.

In further recognition of the quality of the work undertaken on this project, Dwaine Bickerdike, Senior Project Manager for Built Environs on the Adelaide Oval Western Grandstand Redevelopment, was announced as the AIB Building Professional of the Year.

The GP Plus Health Care Centre Elizabeth won a High Commendation Award in the Commercial Construction $10 million – $50 million category.

Built Environs Managing Director Jim Frith said the awards endorsed the quality of the work managed by the Built Environs teams.

“This is a fantastic outcome for the teams that worked on these two projects,” said Frith.

“The Adelaide Oval Western Grandstand was a complex and high-value project that was managed to a fixed deadline, and to have two AIB awards associated with our delivery of the grandstand confirms the quality of both our people and our approach to managing world-class $100 million-plus projects.”

“The high commendation for the team’s work on GP Plus Health Care Centre Elizabeth is a great endorsement of our ability to deliver quality value-managed outcomes for health sector clients.”
