Our Victorian team recently rolled up their sleeves at our Richmond office to support Eat Up Australia, preparing more than 1,000 sandwiches for children experiencing food insecurity.
Right now, 1 in 3 students need an Eat Up lunch, up from 1 in 4 last year. Schools across the country are seeing demand rise, with 68% reporting more students needing support and 61% saying children are arriving at school hungrier than ever before. There has also been a 31% increase in the amount of food required per child, with more than half of students accessing the program due to direct financial hardship. These numbers reinforce why organisations like Eat Up Australia are so important.
In less than an hour, our team assembled more than 1,000 sandwiches. The competitive spirit was in full force, proving just how much we can achieve when we come together.
