Built Environs delivered 432 contemporary accommodation units at RAAF Base Edinburgh as part of the Single LEAP Phase 2 project.
432 new homes on base
Delivered as part of the Plenary Living consortium, the project included 29 three-storey and 11 single-storey buildings.
Each single-bedroom apartment provides an open-plan living and study area, ensuite and kitchenette, creating modern living-in accommodation for Australian Defence Force members.
Delivering early on an operational base
Working within an operational RAAF base required close coordination with Defence, PPP stakeholders and base users, alongside strict compliance with Defence protocols.
The first stage was completed four months ahead of schedule, allowing more than 200 units to be handed over for Defence occupancy earlier than planned. The second stage also reached technical completion months ahead of schedule.
The project achieved zero waste to landfill, with 100% of construction material recycled.
