Built for a critical Australian naval shipbuilding program.

uilt Environs delivered two six-storey steel structures for shipbuilder ASC, supporting the construction of three Air Warfare Destroyers for the Royal Australian Navy.

Built for specialist shipbuilding

The project included a dedicated ship blasting and painting facility, integrating specialist blast and paint equipment with workshops, tool stores and offices.

Supporting infrastructure included a 12m x 55m steel awning, dust and dry-paint protection systems, emission control seals and acoustic insulation.

Working around active operations

Construction took place alongside an active shipbuilding operation, requiring careful management of traffic, security, logistics and safety while protecting existing transfer rail tracks and pavements.

The site’s proximity to the Port River also required strict environmental controls throughout delivery, including compliance with EPA pollution requirements.

Built Environs completed the project ahead of the contracted deadline, following our earlier delivery of the adjacent Techport Australia Common User Facility in joint venture with McConnell Dowell.
