Delivering a vibrant leisure destination for the local community
The new Fawkner Leisure Centre is a more accessible and environmentally friendly facility, with improved options for all ages and abilities to lead a healthy and active lifestyle.
The substantial redevelopment includes:
- a new outdoor 50m pool
- a new outdoor family water play pool, landscaped areas, barbeques, and a barbeque shelter
- a new indoor sauna, steam room and spa
- a refurbished indoor 25m pool and a dedicated learn to swim zone
- refurbished change facilities
- new gym equipped with the latest equipment and new program spaces
- a new foyer, reception area, and café lounge
The centre incorporates a variety of environmentally sustainable design elements and is now fully electric, aligning with Merri-bek City Council’s zero carbon objectives.
The much-loved community facility reopened in December 2024, just in time for the 2024/25 summer season.
