The major expansion of Flinders Medical Centre (FMC) will introduce an additional 98-beds within the new seven-level Acute Services Building, significantly increasing capacity for the medical day unit, operating theatres, intensive care and general inpatient beds.

It will feature an 18-bay Medical Day Unit, a new Podiatry department, four operating theatres with recovery areas, and a dedicated floor for the Eye Surgery Clinic, complete with procedure rooms and theatres. Additionally, the building will house a 16-bed Intensive Care Unit supported by a CT scanner suite, and two 32-bed Adult Inpatient Units.

The facility will also include a new main entrance and lobby,  undercover drop off zone,  along with a new Day of Surgery Admissions area.
