Delivering four new education facilities for day one.

The New Schools 2026 Bundle A programme delivered three new primary schools and an Early Learning and Childcare Centre across Melbourne’s rapidly growing western suburbs.

Delivered under a Design and Construct model for the Victorian School Building Authority, the programme included two supported inclusion schools, contemporary learning neighbourhoods, indoor sports facilities, community hubs and extensive outdoor recreation spaces. Managing multiple sites concurrently, Built Environs delivered every facility in time for students and teachers to begin Term 1, 2026.

Ready for day one

Delivering four education facilities across multiple sites required disciplined planning, detailed coordination and consistent delivery across every stage of the programme.

Despite the scale and complexity of the works, every facility was completed without programme extensions, ensuring each school was ready to welcome students for the first day of Term 1, 2026.

Managing multiple projects as one

Mindalk and Murrum Primary Schools were delivered concurrently, with Wiyal Primary School commencing later. Lessons learned across the programme were applied between sites to improve sequencing, construction efficiency and quality outcomes.

This collaborative approach enabled consistent delivery while maintaining programme certainty across every project.

Planning for certainty

Early procurement, staged approvals and proactive programme management helped manage long-lead materials, complex landscaping and evolving documentation.

By breaking major work packages into manageable stages and coordinating approvals early, the team maintained programme certainty across all four sites.

Beyond the schools themselves, the programme delivered meaningful social and economic outcomes through strong engagement with social enterprises and Aboriginal-owned businesses.

Connecting four projects through DroneDeploy

DroneDeploy provided a single source of truth across the Bundle A programme, capturing regular aerial imagery and site data for each school. The platform improved progress reporting, supported remote stakeholder engagement and enabled the project team to monitor delivery consistently across multiple active sites.
