Culturally inspired, Environmentally Sustainable facilities for the Pacific
In a joint venture with McConnell Dowell, we are building new diplomatic facilities in Suva and Port Moresby.
The scope includes:
- infrastructure upgrades, a new chancery and an Official Residence in Suva
- and a new chancery and Representation Space will be built in Port Moresby
Each island has unique requirements and facilities, and every new structure reflects a culturally inspired, environmentally sustainable design philosophy.
Work is expected to run over three years, with a strong commitment to engaging the local workforce, subcontractors and suppliers wherever possible.
With smart design, careful planning and community engagement, we will reduce the project’s carbon footprint and repurpose materials to minimise waste to landfill wherever possible.
Our Pacific sustainability track record includes:
- an 80% local employment rate in Tonga
- diverted significant waste from landfill: 126t of scrap metal, 2.2t soft plastic and 7,500l waste oil recycled
- Repurposed demolished concrete – crushed and reused in rock bags as shore protection
