A transformative sport and community hub for future generations
The extensive redevelopment of the multi-building community centre in Adelaide's Angle Park suburb included demolishing the current swimming pool and decommissioning and demolishing 14 of the 17 existing buildings, as well as modifying, upgrading and extending the remainder.
The Built Environs team managed the challenges in controlling the expansive 80,000m2 site and delivering works across a high groundwater area, resulting in the construction of modern facilities such as a theatre and childcare centre, swimming pools, car parks, public plazas, soccer pitches, services and landscaping.
The project was handed over in stages, with the swimming pools opening in time for the summer holidays, and the professional-grade soccer pitch the final facility to be delivered.
