Addressing critical aged infrastructure and facilities

Built Environs completed a range of works across three stages at RAAF Base Pearce in Bullsbrook, WA for the Department of Defence.

These works included the construction of a single-storey building, the demolition of eleven redundant base facilities and the upgrading of 12 km of base perimeter fencing. Additionally, the supply and installation of a new grey water treatment plant for landscape irrigation was a unique element of the project.

A particular challenge was the need to work within an operational RAAF base, with security and airside access restrictions. Despite this, the Built Environs team managed communications and construction works effectively so that base operations were uninterrupted. Advanced planning and coordination of construction activities with base users and stakeholders ensured the base remained fully operational throughout the project..
